I’m Sam Grobmeier, a New York City based artist born and raised in the good ole suburbs of Chicago, Illinois (though I prefer NYC pizza… don’t tell my parents)! I am an actress, singer, musician, dancer, and activist who has performed in 30+ shows throughout the Chicagoland and New York City areas since I was 6 years old.
I am a current student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts studying musical theatre at The New Studio on Broadway and screen acting at The Stonestreet Studios. I am en route to graduate in 2022 with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Producing!
I was also part of the Tisch Drama Women’s Mentorship Program where I was mentored by the incredible Barbara Davis (CFO of The Actor’s Fund). I am currently on the executive board of a new Tisch club called Playground Production Co-Op where we are creating opportunities for and bridging the gap between Drama students and Dramatic Writing students. I also work as an office and website assistant at NYU Tisch’s Graduate Acting School!
In addition, I am the social media manager of The Maddog Strong Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity organization that promotes awareness and education for organ and tissue donation registry among teens and their families. The foundation was created in honor of my younger sister who passed away from an acute asthma attack in the summer of 2019.
Outside of acting, I have passions for mental health and disability awareness, organ donation education, and the empowerment of women in the arts & the world. I love playing music (I play guitar, ukulele, flute, piccolo, and a bit of piano), stress baking (yes, it’s a real thing), spending time with the people I love, filming and editing videos (I did have a cringe-worthy YouTube phase in middle school… that’s for another time), seeing as much theatre as I can, and trying to catch a nap every now and then in between!
